Frequently asked questions

Hope you can find answers to all of your questions you may have for us. If you don’t, don’t hesitate to contact us, we will get back to you as soon as possible.

How do I cancel lessons for vacation time?

You may notify the front desk or your instructor by writing the vacation notice in your homework book. The instructor can only hold your time slot for 2 weeks so you may have to reschedule your lessons upon return. If your break is longer than 4 weeks, please notify us 2 weeks prior so we can prepare for your return.

What is the difference between a “cancellation with make-up” and a “full cancellation”?

A full cancellation is not added to your semester bill, however, a notice must be given a week in advance for the full cancellation. Any notice shorter than a week will be a cancellation with make-up, which will be charged to your bill, and the lesson must be made up on another day.

What happens when my instructor’s availability for a make-up lesson does not match mine?

You can schedule a make-up lesson with a substitute instructor. All of our instructors are trained to teach students using the same unique methods taught here.

Can I reschedule a make-up lesson?

The only time a make-up lesson can be rescheduled is in the event of an emergency.

How many recitals and level tests are there?

We have 2 recitals and level tests a year in June and December. Students will be evaluated before the recital. Students who perform well during the evaluation will be asked to participate in level test.

How do I discontinue lessons at The Most?

You must give us at least one month’s notice in advance and complete the last four lessons that are scheduled.

How can I help my child with their homework and practicing?

All parents and guardians of the students have the option to request a sit-in lesson through the homework book and the instructor will invite you to join in on one of the lessons. During the lesson, you can observe the teaching methods and ask the instructor for advice on how to effectively help your child progress in their musical practice.

It is very difficult to have my child practice their instrument at home. What can I do?

Do not force your child to practice. Keep in mind that playing any instrument can be very difficult. Children tend to listen to their instructor more regarding practice, therefore it is best to inform the instructor of your child’s poor practicing habits.

What can I do if I don’t have a piano at home?

A keyboard will be sufficient to use for the first 12 months. However, since playing piano requires your child to feel the weight of each key, a proper piano would be more beneficial to your child in the process of learning.

How much should my child be practicing their instrument at home?

5 days a week is ideal. The instructor will write the minimum requirement of practice time in the homework book. The actual time spent practicing is not as important as building the habit of practicing at home.

What are the methods of payment?

The tuition can be paid online through PayPal (a secure website specializing in money transferring). The PayPal link will be found in your emailed invoice. You also have the option to pay at the front desk with check, cash, or credit card.

When do I pay my bill?

Your bill will be sent to you via email at the beginning of every semester (bi-monthly). The tuition must be paid by the 10th or a $15 late fee will be added to your bill.

What is the semester fee?

A semester fee of $20 will be charged to your account every 6 months, once in May and once in November. The fee will cover two recitals per year, evaluations, workshops, and other supplementary materials. Instructional books are not covered by the semester fee and will be charged separately.
