Jin Son

Owner, Piano

Jin son is a piano teacher who has been teaching piano for over twenty years. She was the managing director for her own Music Institution which was a privately owned institution in South Korea and upon opening gathered up to 200% membership within a month. She was also an instructor at the Seoul, Korea Amadeus Music Institute. She majored in Composition and piano as a second major in South Korea. She is currently providing lessons to students with varying levels and grades, across Warren, Princeton and Basking Ridge area. She is capable of leading beginners to higher levels of performance by teaching technique and music theory. For advanced students, she can provide more sophisticated technique along with deep musical understanding.

Dr. Hyewoon Kate Lim

Piano / Vocal

Born and raised in South Korea, Dr. Lim came to the United States to pursue graduate degrees after getting her bachelor’s degree at Sook-Myung Women’s University in Seoul, South Korea. She received her master’s degree in Piano Performance at the Univ. of MI – Ann Arbor in 3 semesters, with numerous scholarships and assistantships, and she moved to New Jersey to attend Doctor of Musical Arts program at Rutgers University. While in the degree program, she was a piano faculty at Rutgers Extension Division as well as a distinguished accompanist for a Children’s choir, end-of-semester recitals, and many of summer music camps. Upon graduation, Dr. Lim was the recipient of the prestigious Irene Elm award – which was given to only one doctoral student every year – for her excellent research and performance. She made her orchestral debut in Vienna with the Vienna Int’l Orchestra in 2010, staged at Carnegie Hall in winter, 2012 at Debussy’s 150 th Anniversary Celebration concert. As a winner of concerto competitions, she performed with the South Orange Symphony Orchestra in 2011 and the Rutgers Symphony Orchestra in 2012. In summer 2013, she served as a staff pianist for opera singers at Castleton Music Festival, under the direction of late Maestro Lorin Maazel, and in 2012 she also joined a summer music program ‘Rutgers in Vienna’ as a collaborative pianist. In 2018, she was invited to perform an annual Int’l piano festival (XXXV Festival Internacional de Piano) gala concert at Bucaramanga, and a music festival (XXIII Festival de Música Ciudad de Cucuta) in Cucuta, Colombia. Dr. Lim is a member of MTNA, NJMTA, MEA-NJ, and an educational partner of Steinway & Sons in New York. Currently, she is working as a staff pianist at Rutgers University, a church music director, and a piano teacher.

Kevin Maa

Cello

Kevin Maa is a passionate performer and music educator. As a cellist, he has performed throughout the United States and abroad in famous concert halls such as Lincoln Center, The Kimmel Center, Carnegie Hall, and Congress Graz Stefaniensaal in Graz, Austria. As an instructor, Mr. Maa has helped students strengthen posture and technique, prepare for auditions for local and regional orchestras, and gain confidence performing. Mr. Maa holds a bachelor’s degree in Cello Performance from Montclair State University, where he won their Concerto Competition, and a master’s degree in Cello Performance from Mannes School of Music at the New School in Manhattan. In addition, he has taken string pedagogy classes at Rutgers under the instruction of Betsy Maliszewski and cello pedagogy with Frances Rowell at Montclair. Mr. Maa has been the recipient of numerous scholarships for academic studies.

Eunmin Woo

Violin

Eunmin Woo, student of Carmit Zori, is pursuing a Doctoral in Musical Arts in violin performance at Rutgers University. She also completed her masters at Rutgers Mason Gross School of the Arts, graduated from University of Puget Sound, and attended Interlochen Arts Academy. Miss Woo is a Suzuki certified teacher and passionately teaches violin privately for high school leveled students. She has students both in New Jersey and Washington state where her students have won concertmaster roles, other principal positions in orchestras, and first place in solo/ensemble competitions. Miss Woo has studied with the former concertmaster of the Seattle Symphony, Maria Larionoff, Simon James, and members of the Philadelphia Orchestra.
